Home Learning

In this space, we will be adding documents that will be needed for your home learning. We will be uploading new tasks daily to SeeSaw. This is where you can upload your completed work for us to see and we'll then be able to comment back! You may wish to print and complete work by hand. If you are doing this then you will need to take a photo of that work and upload it to SeeSaw for us to see.

We will provide any necessary documents/worksheets here on the website for you print if you wish.

However, the activities set will be via SeeSaw (your login is on the inside of your home learning book).

Welcome to the Spring Term

This term Ash and Oak classes are investigating the question,   ‘What is the significance of our planet in an infinite universe?’

We will be reading texts such as, ‘Jazz Harper: Space Explorer’, ‘The Jamie Drake Equation’ and ‘Curiosity: The Story of a Mars Rover’. Within these texts we will be pulling out what is fact and what is fiction and exploring in detail what it is like to live in Space.

In English we have been learning lots of new vocabulary to describe the universe:  Here are some of our current WOW words you can find on our Language through Colour word bank:

Satellite, vast, infinite, galaxy, celestial, astronomy, eclipse, orbit, atmosphere, asteroid, cosmic

This subject links directly to our Science where we will be exploring the planetary movements within our solar system, properties of gas and rock planets, how the sun affects our planet and researching information about other celestial bodies within space.
