Term 6 Connected Learning
This term our historical learning continues to focus on Ancient Egypt. Learning more about their cultural beliefs and practices. This will be elevated by workshops with the Maidstone Museum and a chance to examine their artefacts and mummy! The River Nile is a main factor in the success of the Ancient Egyptian culture and so this term in Geography we will be learning about rivers in more detail. We will be identifying the topographical features at different stages of a river and exploring how the power of water changes in different sections. We hope to learn about this practically with a river visit towards the end of term.
In Science we are learning about light. How the effects of light can be changed as in the length of shadows and how light moves by reflecting and refracting.
In D&T inspired by the incredible true story of Zeraffe Giraffe that we are reading in English, we will be designing and making very fashionable, Parisian style, giraffe inspired clothing for our teddies!
For RE we are exploring another new faith for us, Humanism. We will be looking for similarities and differences between their thoughts and practices and those of the Christians and Sikhs we studied earlier in the year.
