Term 1 Curriculum

This term, we will focus our learning on My Family! Our learning will be linked to our Pathways book 'Peace at last!' We will be talking about our families and nocturnal animals. In Maths, we will be looking at numbers up to 5 and representing that number on our fingers. In Phonics, we will be listening to rhymes, learning about alliteration, and singing familiar songs, as part of Basics 1. In RE, we will be learning about Creation and thinking about what people believe about God and the world. As this is our first term of school, we will also be learning and practicing school routines and how to be a good friend.

Home Learning

Please try to read every day and write in the reading record diary. Your child has the 'Tricky Words' stuck into their orange reading diary, please practise these each day when you read. At the end of each week in their red phonics book we will send home the set of sounds your child has learnt that week in our Phonic lessons .  Ask your child to explain what they have been learning and show you the 'cued articulation' action for each sound, as they progress they will be able to segment and blend the sounds and words they have been learning.
